S5P1 Students will verify that an object is the sum of its parts.
                                                                                                  a. Demonstrate that the mass of an object is equal to the sum of its parts by manipulating and measuring different objects made of various parts.
                                                                                                  b. Investigate how common items have parts that are too small to be seen without magnification.

                                                                                                  Mass, Volume, Density & Weight

You can visit StudyJams for a more detailed explanation of mass, volume, density and weight. I'll give you a basic overview here:
                                                                                                  • Mass is the amount of matter in an object.
                                                                                                  • Volume is how much space an object takes up.
                                                                                                  • Density is how tightly the molecules in an object are packed.
                                                                                                  • Weight measures how much gravity pulls down on an object. (The weight of an object can change depending how much gravity pulls on the object. For example, an object on the moon weight about 1/6 what it does on earth.)
