I love teaching Social Studies. I think it is fascinating to study people and why things are the way that they are? Why is the United States a world power? Why is their so much security to get on an airplane? Why do professional sports players get paid so much money for playing a game (they didn't always)? There are so many intriguing questions to be answered? In 5th grade we will be looking at United States History from the Civil War to the present. Along the way we will include some geography, economics and government. Here are some of the key areas we will be learning about in 5th grade:
