One thing that is great about Christmas is that families come together from all over the place. I have siblings that live in four different states and yet at Christmas we converge on my parents house in Ohio and celebrate. This year was particularly fun, because there were six grandkids to keep things interesting. It was also our first Christmas with little Lincoln. Having all the little kids around reminded me of how much fun Christmas morning. It also reminded me of how important family is. We might move into a different house or community, and our friends will likely change over time, but family will always be around, for better or worse. It makes making memories even more fun, because you know that ten years from now your family will remember those good times. However, very few of my friends were my friends ten years ago. Things change. I've moved around. In addition to having all the kids around, we had an epic gingerbread house competition. Some of the results were more interesting than epic, but boy did we have fun. There are a few images included in my December video included below.

AuthorI have been fortunate to work with kids from all over the world and I want to keep perspective in my own life, as well as challenge others to keep things in perspective in their lives. I know a blog like this might be a bit strange to have on an educational website, but I think that education should not be put in a box. What is learned in school needs to connect to the real world. The posts that I make will hopefully challenge people to think differently about life and the world in which they live. Archives
