You don't often get inspirational speeches from people in Hollywood, but I saw this and thought I would share it. You have to work for your opportunities. Being "sexy" is a whole lot more than looking good. It really has a lot more to do with who you are. I work on a daily basis with kids who are entering into middle school and there is so much drama. Be someone who is smart, works hard and cares about other people and you will find plenty of opportunities will come your way.

I am also a 5th grade science teacher. I teach in Atlanta, GA. I saw on your homepage that you are a teacher who doesn't view the textbook as a "Bible" for student learning! I, too, think kids need to experience the content to have the greatest potential of learning and future success! Keep up the great work!

AuthorI have been fortunate to work with kids from all over the world and I want to keep perspective in my own life, as well as challenge others to keep things in perspective in their lives. I know a blog like this might be a bit strange to have on an educational website, but I think that education should not be put in a box. What is learned in school needs to connect to the real world. The posts that I make will hopefully challenge people to think differently about life and the world in which they live. Archives
